This shoot started with not wanting to do anything conventional, and we went back and forth on it for a while. We settled on a dress so colourful it needed its own room: a bold navy print bursting with cobalt, turquoise and gold, with tiers of ruffles and a flash of satin blue. It was my chance to show off my “extra-ness.” Lionel is laidback and always composed, and I am the bubbly one, so we put that in the clothes: Lionel in a navy two-piece, me in this dress. He brought the calm, and I brought the colour.
